Growing Up In Children’s Bunk Beds Bunk Beds

Growing up with siblings, we often find ourselves ensconced in bunk beds. These children’s bedroom furniture allows the convenience of sharing the same room with a brother or sister without compromising that much needed space. This set up can also be great in fostering strong bonds between siblings as we get to play the same toys and share the same stories in the room each night.

For kids, having children’s bunk beds is a total delight. They view this children’s bedroom furniture not as an area for sleeping but as a huge mountain which they can climb up. The boys can pretend as cowboys and Indians chasing each other. Girls can see the top bunk as a tower where they can be rescued by their knights in shining armor. Bunk beds supplement the wild imaginations of the children. This is a normal reaction from the kids. Their pretend play can, in fact, help them in the development of their language and personality.

A lot of bunk beds are ingeniously designed, too. Aside from providing sleeping quarters for siblings, portions of the bed can also be crafted to have some storage areas. Shelves can be placed at either head or foot of the bed. This can be utilized by the kids to display their favorite knick knacks or simply use as a storage area for their books or clothes. Underneath the bed, drawers can be placed to hold the children’s art supplies. Other designs are so innovative that they go to the extremes of incorporating a desk or vanity table within the bed. This can save the parents from making additional purchases of other children’s bedroom furniture.

Of course, having everything in one place can be convenient but it can also mean taking up more space. Depending on the size of the children’s bedroom, if there’s ample space then you can save up by going for an all-in-one bunk bed set. This includes children’s bunk bed with built-in desk, dressers and shelves. If the space is tiny, a bunk bed with drawers underneath can be a more logical choice.
